We have tried several times to get into the Japanese language sections of www.dmoz.org in the oceania/australia section with no luck.

Mind you I haven't had much luck with other English language sections.

Does anyone have any ideas on this one?

There are fewer editors in the Oceania areas of the English directory as opposed to Europe or North America, and fewer still in World/Japanese. Would you have an interest in volunteering?

For now, try sending feedback to the nearest listed editor, who is under World/Japanese/[Regional]/[Outside] and appears to be fluent in English. You probably will not receive a direct response, but it may prompt the editors with access to those categories to cull back some of the backlog.

I will get one of Japanese specialists to apply.

I tried to become an editor for a tourism sector in Australian sections in English, but I was turned down as they had too many for that area.

I'd have to agree that Japanese DMOZ is very slow sometimes. Some business topics are nearly impossible to get listings while I've had some entertainment listings go thru without a hitch. Thanks for the advice though choster.
