affiliate campaigns in Japan

which programs are to be recommended and which aren't?

anybody willing to share their experiences with affiliate networks in Japan?

Any and all comments welcome, be they from merchants or affiliates, related to costs, service, offering, popularity or just about anything.

A friend of mine who is somewhat into this recomended a company called something or other "oroshi." I can't remember the first word of the name but oroshi means wholesale in Japanese. He felt that that company brought the best results.

I think ValueCommerce would come in second place or so. A long time ago I was considering ValueCommerce. They want 50,000 yen to sign-up which I think is reasonable for Japan.

I've been looking into this too recently.
A8 is another company offereing an affiliate program.
Setup fee: y52,500
monthly fee: y43,000 (* 6 mth contract)
commission: 30% of what you pay the affiliate site.
They have 8,000+ sites hosting banners etc.. for them, so maybe can reach more potential affiliates than you could independently.

I think Linkshare has a similar pricing setup. They provide the affiliate program for iTunes Music Store Japan.

Something I'd be interested to know is the potential that affiliate programs have vis-avis to Adwords/Overture in Japan and how these programs compare to their "Western" counterparts/subsidiaries.
