travelling to china

Have any of you guys actually travelled down to China, possibly to visit those HUGE trade shows that exhibit products product by the local manufactures etc.?

If you have taken the plunge, how did you plan your trip? What things did you do to fully take advantage of the trip? (i.e what things can be done before you fly down to ensure you take advantage of your time their).

you must know what you will do in China firstly: what products you want? Which exhibition to take part in?
After all of this, choose your destination city and hotel, China's industries are different subject to different region. For example: if you want to buy shoes, you¡¯d better go to Zhejiang or Fujian province; if you want to buy computer hardware, you¡¯d better go to Guangdong or Jiangsu Province.
As a Chinese, I¡¯d like to give you some advice for reference.

I think what he means by HUGE trade show is the biggest trade show in the world. It is currently opening in Guang Zhou. You find almost any products there.

You might want to know.
1. What kind of products you want and which days are those products on show. There are two sections in that HUGE show. Each sections has different range of product.

2. Where you want to stay? surely almost all hotle are full and hotel price are about 2 times higher than normal price! And when you want to leave? you might not find airplane to leave guangzhou, they are all full one month ago already... things like this...

3 What kind of companies you want to visits? They are basically two kinds of companies. Trade company and manufacturer. You may not like those pure trade companies very much. It will be long stories to say about those trade company. or in a short, trade companies are less trustable.

4. How is your English or Chinese level. I hope your English is not that Good. It is hard to find Chinese speaking good English, even on that show. prepare to use body language, writting or other way of communication.

5. You better requires an invitation before you go there. Call that show organizer, they will tell you everything.

No. Canton Fair is hold twice annually seperately in Spring and Autumn.
Spring Fair:
First Phase April 15th to 20th
Second Phase April 25th to 30th
Autumn Fair:
First Phase October 15th 20th
Second Phase October 25th to 30th
