Being penalized for ROS links

Hi,

I have a site that has lots of good positions on G and I get around 500 unique visitors per day from these positions, many of which are front page for reasonable competitive KW's.

I also have over 10K pages indexed.

The thing is that link:site does not register a single inbound link, even though I have several hundred, some very high quality -- PR 6, 7, etc.

Recently, I found that a certain person had given me ROS links and I had some 20K inbound links from his site as registered by yahoo. I told the guy to turn off the ROS links, which he did a week ago.

Could the ROS links be the reason why G hasn't registered any of my links up to this time?

I really dont think that ROS links would give you a penalty, but rather have little/no benefit.

If it were the case that a single ROS link on a large site could bring down someones rankings then this tactic would be in use to take down competitor sites.

If your site is new than you will not show any links using link:mysite.com until the next update. If your site had links before and then lost them than that is something else and is probably really bad.

The link command is useless. Don't do anything based on what you see there.
