I've just been looking into why none of the new pages on our main website have been indexed since mid march and it's truly got me baffled. I started investigating further and found that a lot of our client's sites (we do web dev) are in the same boat.

I've gone back through my work logs and found that the only new pages I've worked on since March that google has indexed are home pages. The new pages (& new sites) are completely missing from the index. In some cases, all I've done is redesigned the site and google has dropped the whole thing keeping only the home page (for over two months?).

We manage over 250 websites, most of them just for SMEs and I can't find any consistency. Some of the sites are hosted on different servers, some link to us, some don't... the only constant variable I can find is that apart from the fact that I have worked on these pages is that all of them are hosted here in Australia?

Ok, further investigating... I just checked out some of the few sites I've worked on that are hosted in the US and the new pages are indexed! What the hell is going on?

Surely I'm not the only one noticing this? I found a related thread that died out in late April but this is still an ongoing issue, is it not?

Well, if you read enough posts on webmaster world you will see that google is currently dropping a lot of pages.

I would venture to say that probally 80% of us here at webmaster world will attest to the fact that google has some real issues right now.

Hi AussieMike
PommieIan here but i live on Qld. We have a hundred or websites under management and mostly we use shopping cart software (asp) along with a few html files. With the shopping cart we use i have managed to get no 1 /2 or 3 on Google for most search phrases or brand names.

....until March

Evertything gone totally...index pages only... some sites with cache a year old and not in SERPS.

It's difficult trying to explain this to customers... after a few months they expect free leads..

I'm just going to wait it out.

Good luck
