Hello,
I was informed that you can actually increase your SERP rankings by putting Google's search engine box on your website and use some spam program to repeatedly search for your site. This makes Google think you have high link popularity and therefore ranks you higher?

Can anyone refute or agree with this?

Sounds like urban myth to me. I've never seen a Google site search box make a difference to a site, and I'll bet Google can easily catch any artificially created searches -- they are bound to have a "footprint".
