Malls, Blogs, and Orgs rank high

Is G tweaking search results to favor big corps?

Is anybody else concerned about G and the relevancy of results when it comes to searching for products of a given type/brand?

We used to rank high (especially up to the point of canonical probs and pre-BD) for brands/products which we have in one of our online shops. Over the last several weeks we have seen our ranking in that one shop replaced by either mall listings, mega-warehouse operators, blog entries or .org sites.

We saw improved results in the first 2 weeks of April(valid searches and customers demonstrating interest in buying our brand/product offerings). Then things looked like they went into the dumper and all the malls, mega-warehouses blogs and .org sites rose to the top pages for many if not most of the brand/product keyword combinations.

For popular brand/product combinations, we have seen a drop from #2-3 to #20-80 and I'm beginning to convince myself that G is deliberately tweaking search results for brand/product keyword combinations so that the biggest corporations (sites) get ranked higher.

Is this a temporary thing or are we in for the G which favors big over small (more now than in the past)?

Does anybody have any answers (based on observation and/or experience)?
