Adding a new site with similar content.

Will this be a problem for Google?

I have been operating an ecommerce site for about 4 yrs now and have been trying to reach a wide variety of consumers offering items for both home and office.

I want to add a new site with a new line targeting just the office customer. There will be many of the same type of items that I currently sell but different brands and a wider selection of items.

I see that I will be competing with myself for content and keywords so my questions are...

What problems will this likely cause me from Google?

What can I do to avoid any problems?

No real problems. There are thousands of Amazon clone websites listed in Google with no penalities whatsoever.
