google regional - is there a seperate bot?

buying local domains and 301ing.

Ok, so I'm no.1 on google(my country) NO10 on google.com but nowhere in google.uk, .ca etc,

Has anyone tried something like this.

a. Buy all regional version of domain.
b. detect bot(are there different google bots for regions?) and if google uk, permanetly 301 to the correct domain for that region.

Should get around duplicate content in multiple domains issue...

Or has someone come up with some other answer how to rank in regional google?
