But when I enter the site URL in Google search, I get this result:
"Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.thesiteyouarelookingfor.com
If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.thesiteyouarelookingfor.com
Find web pages from the site www.thesiteyouarelookingfor.com
Find web pages that contain the term "www.thesiteyouarelookingfor.com""
Anybody got any idea what could be going on here? How can a site appear not to be indexed yet have PR ranking and credied backlinks?
show more pages from site.... are deeper pages shown?
If so, I have exactly the same problem.
It went away for a few weeks but is back again.
The site is not banned, has a DMOZ entry and gets spidered by G.
I also get traffic from G, have toolbar PR yada yada.
Other pages in the site show if you continue and click on the list pages from this site.
I think its a temporary glitch, I've also lost other pages from this site.
Like I said it occurred about 1 month ago, there was a brief respite approx 2 weeks ago of 3-4 days where the page was listed again but with the DMOZ title and snippet.
I'm not overly worried as there are some strange goings on in the Google indices at the moment.
However, do you have any redirects on this page?
Normally if you have this line the site is not banned - just not known by Google.
Eg.
Banned:-
[google.com...]
Now known site by Google:-
[google.com...]
Google seems to be losing a lot of recently cached pages at the moment and replacing them with an older cache or non-existant cache.
Although few of my websites are still top 3 for over 200 competitive keyword searches, it feel that Google is broken and possibly by it's makers to increase PPC income. If you rely on internet traffic to make money, then you should consider spending money on PPCs. With time you will see all the issues with your website resolved as long as you are wearing a white hat while SEOing your website. I noticed that sites with PPC campaigns are doing great in the organic results on some Data Centers lately, but who knows what Google's new formula is all about. One thing I know for sure, the goal is to make as much $$$ as possible to maintain a $400 stock value. Microsoft runs the world with operating systems and crucial software such as office and MS Media player, still MS' stock value is nowhere near $400. Google's continuous claims that they are having problems with supplemental or 302 or whatever excuse they come up with is pushing me and my clients to run PPC campaigns as a solution to google's issues. It's almost like Microsoft charging us money for patches and updates. Very uncool.
