If they're unreciprocated links, coming from a few different pages on a good site (non-scraper, original content, authority/hub, good PR, etc), then for sure, it helps. In fact, most inbound links help to some degree (if they're not hijacking with a 302, or php, etc) - it's who you link back to that's the main concern.
