Under the page 1 2 3 4 links on SERPs at www.google.co.uk:

New! Crack the Code: Play the Da Vinci Code Quest on Google.

which links to http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&ct=pro&cd=rppweb%3Aen_uk&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fdavincicode%3Fsource%3Dbrpp and then on to a Sony sponsored website.

Now that is prominent advertising.

Hmm, I just heard Dennis Wang on the BBC Radio 4 program "PM" talking about Google celebration logos (like the one today), and a UK competition for kids to design more logos.

He also said that they don't use the Google homepage for commercial purposes as it goes against their Corporate principles. This looks pretty commercial to me, even if it is a competition.

I wonder how much PR juice Sony gets from that link?
