High pagerank but no appearing for keywords

Hi,

I designed and published a new site about 3 months ago for a client. I got a few people to link to it back then. About 10 days ago the site jumped from PR0 to PR5 (on the toolbar).

However, it's only appearing on very specific keyphrases, not the competitive ones (I have checked like 10 pages of results!) -- but the PR5 is higher than the competitors.

Is this to do with the sandbox -- or would the pagerank be zero in this case. Will it move up the listings slowly, or should I be waiting for a jump when something updates? Any advise would be gratefully received!
