Interesting Sandbox Behavior?

One foot in, one foot out of the sandbox

I noticed this weekend that my site was able to temporarily leave the sandbox for a select few keywords this weekend. The 3 kw combinations that I ranked from saturday until this morning are very competitive for my industry - but not closely related (i.e Tech Service A, Tech Service B, Tech Service C).

The site is 3 months old, optimized for relatively competive keywords, and I am in the process of changing from a table based to all css layout. In other words, I dont think I am about to leave the sandbox.

I moved from not being indexed (in first 1000 results anyways), to 2nd/48 million. I believe i have the high PR backlinks and site structure to consider my SERP advancement valid without the aging filter.
really emphasized that the sandbox is not

This could be old news or new insight - but the Sandbox appears to be a totally keyword (theme?) based filter, and is not necessarily site wide. The massive spike in traffic on certain pages was exciting though.

Anyone else expierence the same over the weekend?
