A site of mine get the same problems many times during two months.

When I typed the "www.domain.com" into google search box, it returned me

Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.domain.com

If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.domain.com
Find web pages from the site www.domain.com
Find web pages that contain the term "www.domain.com"

But when I clicked the contain the term "www.domain.com"

I can found the record "www.domain.com/index.htm" and other major pages of website. How strange. and the scene appeared many times during two months. I asked someone about it, they all said it was not a google penalty, just a temporary fault. But I still want to clarify the reason for the problem.

Waiting for help. TIA

Make sure that all internal pages link back to either "www.domain.com/" or just to "/" and then run Xenu LinkSleuth over your site and fix any problems found.

Set up a 301 redirect from "/index.html" to "/" too.

My site was used to be natural. And I think my apache server had set the default 301 redirect from index.htm to domain.com/

I think there is other faults.

Thank you for the reply. But I don't think it's a glitch from google. It may be something wrong or fault on the data alternation between Google and my website. Sorry, I have not know the reason yet.

You might not know the reason, but the steps above will help you fix it.

Could you tell me the commands for setting up a 301 redirect from "/index.html" to "/"?
