Google and other search engines hate my sites!

google isn't indexing my sites

So I have about 4 info-sites and google seems to hate them. They aren't even indexed and I regularly submit sitemaps... (I have taken content from wikipedia, and re-written about half of it. The site's also have RSS feeds.)

Yahoo and MSN on the other hand index my sites, but they get terriable rankings. I have submitted to many directories.

Any ideas?

PS: Can I post my URL's here?

I should also note I use meta-tags very well, use keyword-rich h1,h2, and h3 tags as well, and the domains are new. I have done everything I know to do to optimize.. Keyword rich links, etc. Bolding, italics..

You may be in the sandbox.

do not mention the site itself!

How long ago did you register the domain?
Do you have links to this site from external websites?
Have you checked your log files for Googlebot (look for requests for robots.txt)
If you see requests for robots.txt, have you checked the syntax within this file?
You say you have rewritten half of it, define rewrite half? To illustrate what I mean do a search for a long string of text that you may have used from wiki:

google serch [google.co.uk]

See how loads of pages have all those words higlighted in bold, that means they are exact copies. Which could in tern be a reason why they do not rank!

Have you done a "site:" with your site as the query

[google.co.uk...]

That will tell you if you have pages indexed by google.

Forget the "sandbox" for the moment that is about new sites ranking for terms and not whether google hates you!

Hope that helps you zero in on the problem

How are you doing getting links from other sites? They play a critical role in the rating game.

Yes you have to get a couple of good incoming one way links.

g1c9, try googling a little more: google sandbox [google.com].

If you've copied your pages then your pages, and hopefully your sites, will have gotten banned. Try doing something original, otherwise you're just wasting your time long term. If you don't have anything original... well, then you don't.

Thanks for the help all, and 2by4, the sites provide breaking news about disease outbreaks and information on the diseases... By doing something original I would be.. um.. lying. And the content is re-written, its nto copy and paste.

I have the same problem. I created a website 3 months ago. New domain. About 20 pages, all original content, no spam. I did not want to expand the site before I see any progress with google. But I did modifications to the existing pages and each time updated the sitemap. All the pages are indexed by MSN, half by Yahoo, but none by Google.
site: and cash: return no result. On the google sitemap management page Query stats and Crawl Stats show 'Data not available at this time'. Logs show that Googlebot scans the website at least every other day, often ALL the pages. It can definitely access all the pages. But still no result. I would expect to see at least indexing with low PR, but it looks like my pages are not indexed at all. What might be the reason for that? At least a hint?
