Does Country matter in Site Maps account?

eg does us just feed map to us data centres?

I have recently set up some site maps accounts for my websites but I think when I set some of them up I may have chosen my country as United States instead of United Kingdom by accident.

Is there any way I can check which country I entered when setting up the account?

Also does the country entered in the site map account have any influence on where the results appear?

eg if I said US would the sitemap be used for US data centres or would the map also be used for UK data centres?

I would say it would not matter much, as long as the bots are picking up the urls, it might take a bit longer to make it to the uk data centers.

Typically when a page gets indexed it goes to all data centers.
