In other BD indexes (like [66.249.93.104...] etc) I now see that some old Supplemental Results for pages and sites that no longer exist are disappearing from the search results.
I have waited years for this moment. We already had several false starts on this over the last few months. The pages were dropped, and then reappeared a day or two later.
Be gone for good this time!

I'll join you - but seriously we're seeing huge volatility - results being indexed, then not, cached pages in , cached pages out the next minute
-btw- I'd like to join you on the optimisitc side - but am still "holding my horses".
The sorts of fluctuations are from 1 site 190,000 indexed, then into supps, then out.
Another site that was hit with a robots.txt 180 day suppression [ we were hacked ] and then had 301 redirects from old to new, followed by gone supplemental [ bar home page ] - is showing life - but again flying around like a YoYo.
...but at least there's life.
How long does Google expect this extreme volatility to continue across the DC's?

We just went to about 230 pages that are now out of supplemental and for the first time in a long time I see fresh tags! Most of the pages out of supplemental hell have fresh tags of yesterday.
I haven't checked all the datacenters but where I saw this was on 72.14.203.104 which happened to be my default google at the time.
This morning we had about 90 pages out of supplemental (but no fresh tags).
But hey they are indexed with fresh tags.
GRRRR, hate to see all those 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable pages that could have been live as well.
You really have problems if the mozillabot is doing that to you.
I really see no need to throttle or restrict this bot at all.
Open the doors up and let it have a party, you will never regret it. :)

Now that BigDaddy has rolled out and all seem relatively quite on the DCs, I guess we just have to wait and see what kind of surprises the friends at the plex will deploy on the new infrastructure :-)
Matt told us in advance to expect PR/Backlinks update. He mentioned that improvements in canonical and supplementals issues are to be expected down the road. However, no mention was made of a possible algo update!
Sit back , relax and fetch your Cappuccino. The coming days and weeks would be for sure busy times for Google Datacenters Watchers :-)

Adam, it must be a joke/setup. I’m all for easter eggs, but not for hidden text. :)
Harith, I can’t promise what we’ll do in the future, but things like a PR update seem doable after Bigdaddy is done. And all of the things you mentioned are things that I would like us to tackle down the road.

This is the worst Google Update ever. Jagger, Allegra or all the others during the last few years have been nothing to what is happening since MONTHS. In fact - I do not know anybody that has profited from this mess. Except some spammers.
Not one single BigDaddy DC is holding a correct amount of data for the sites I do know. And the bots are loading data like nuts.
BigDaddy is definitely the wrong name for that - sorry, but I would call it:
BigMess
BigUncompleted
BigUnable
BigUnusable
or my personal favourite:
BIG BIMBO

It means after BigDaddy (new infrastructure) is rolled out, we might expect an update of PageRank values as well as update of Backlinks/inbound links (links from sites outside of your site) reported by Google link: command .

I'm seeing this too. For one of my test terms, I'm ranking 3, 7, and 12, depending on the DC.
Its all good. My family arrives tomorrow and I can use the time to run some errands, clean, take a nap .... :)
looking at the newer cache pages I see html code showing on several cache pages on several different domains, also the keyword highlighting is highlighting the wrong words, and also snippets of words.
example: highlight shown by [ ]
