Question before explanation: How long does it take on average (approx.) to get on first page of google for 3 word phrases (ex. <Location business type>). Website is Pagerank 0 and is less then 2 months old. The site is in Google, but only for certain phrases, not the ones I want.

My site is much more informative then most of the top ten. Does it take months, years? I have another site that ranks #1 for all keywords I need, but the site has been up for years.

Thanks

Look up "sandbox" on this site. I'm afraid it's going to take a few more months. In the meantime don't go crazy on getting new links.

But do add content steadly (not all at once). Google seems to like that.

I would say that getting a healthy amount of NATURAL new links is nothing to be concerned about, and is actually part of what needs to happen. Just don't automate the process trying for massive growth. In linking, quality means a lot more than quality.
