Recently I noticed that my pages were indexed rather slowly and realised that my PR had dropped to 0 from 5. However, the inbound links for the major sites are still present.
Am I being penalized? However, my traffic from Google has remained constant.

PR doesn't matter, its a feel good thing, like an Alexa rating. Worry if the referrals drop - thats when you need to investigate.

Sounds like a toolbar fluctuation. If your traffic disappears, then its time to worry.
