Relationship of Google Sitemap & Googlebot's activity

Hi...

I have 2 websites, I created a Google sitemap for one of them and notice that the activity of googlebot in the log file of this site was decreased.

Google downloaded my sitemap every day and the status is all OK.

So I assume that the reason why Googlebot's activity is less than before because they can download my whole site from Google sitemap that I submitted, they know what's in my site so they don't need to come and crawl the page directly from my server again.

The other site that I didn't create sitemap, the Googlebot's activity is still very active.

Do you guys think this is a possibly reason?

Actually I'm worried and trying to figure out why I got so small activity from Google.

Any suggestion would be appreciate.

I noticed this: Google loads down the sitemap about 6 - 10 times per day and crawling went up about to 6.000 - 9.000 sites crawled per day. On another site which was not crawled by google, I created a sitemap and google started crawling- every day the whole website twice ...
