Titles and descriptions are 75% gone

Is this temporary or have I been googalized?

Two days ago I discovered that 75% of our titles and descriptions are gone, displaying url only. Site is %100 white hat, 95% text, quality info site.

Is it possible google is re-classifying our pages, that this is just part of BD?

I'm a bit freaked out. Is there any hope that this will improve?

There is a thread from a couple weeks ago that mentions this increase in url-only listings -- results with no title or description. If you always had fully indexed pages in the results, then my guess is that it's temporary. At any rate, this thread has lots of good input in it, things you can check on, and try to help the situation:

Make sure that every page has a unique title and description; one that represents exactly what is on that page.

Make sure that there is only ONE URL that returns the content with status of "200 OK" and that any other alternative URLs that can access the content are via "301 redirects".

.

Use these three searches to see what is going on:

site:domain.com
site:www.domain.com
site:domain.com -inurl:www

I've seen this happening and it appears to have been temporary in the cases I've been watching. Where as in the old days, when googlebot visited every day to every page, this occurance was soon cleared up without anyone noticing. These days googlebot seems to be acting under the influence and can miss great swathes of pages for weeks at a time.

All the best

Col :-)
