Hi there,

Does anybody know what Google think about domain name registered by a company/person located abroad of US and Canada but aimed to US/Canada audience? Does Web-site location make any sense for Google?

Ps. It is NOT an adult Web-site. The content is suitable for all viewers.

Regards ...

Are you talking about the owner contact, the admin contact, the technical contact?

If you're using a privacy service such as DomainsByProxy your public contacts will be located in the US even though the real ones may not be.

Physical location of server CAN make a difference.

Not sure about the location of the contacts in the WHOIS - IMHO this is a lot less interesting for a search engine as it's too easy to forge :-)

I zthink I can use a domain name here, since it's now defunct and unregistered.

I used isham-research.com for several years. My ISP (1und1 - based in Germany) registered the domain there but I had no difficulty getting good positions in my target markets - the UK and the USA.
