The problem is that you can type ANYTHING in place of the "SHOP" part of the url, and it will work.
Recently google has been adding duplicates for all my pages with "SCOP" in the url. It seems that somewhere someone mis-spelled my url. Now, google is taking off with it, and I have duplicates on thousands of my pages that look like this:
[SCOP.store.yahoo.com...]
I have used the GOOGLE REMOVAL TOOL to remove a few of them, but there are just too many to remove that way now, plus they seem to just come back after a while anyways.
Yahoo Store doesn't have any way to redirect the SCOP url's to the SHOP url's.
The only thing I can do with YAHOO is to Redirect to a new domain. I do have a domain that i have used a lot, so that's not a problem.
What scares me is that this site is ranked very well in google, and am afraid I will lose my ranking when I switch domains. I have thousands of links to my Shop.Store.Yahoo.Com/mystore URL. I cringe at the thought of having to go back and try to get them all changed.
If I redirect to the new domain, will Google still give me credit for those links?
Also, will I drop out of Google for a time period while this all switches?
Anyone have an experience with this?
Anyone else ever do this with a YAHOO STORE?
Anyone have any luck getting GOOGLE or YAHOO to disable the "bad" URL's in bulk?
