I have a site at <snip>, I have a page rank of 3 expected to go to a four or 5 next update. When i searcg for widgets uk my index page and home page seem to rank high. Yet my page at
http://www.example.com/widgets.html
doesn't seem to rank at all. It comes literally nowhere in a search. Is it anything to do with the javascript in the html cos' i read somewhere that the google spiders don't like java. Anyone any ideas?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!
Can I suggest you remove your URL, it is against TOC.

I don't think it is a case of search engines not liking javascript, moreover the bots don't follow it. Adsense units are javascript are they not?

You are quite correct that adsense is written mostly with javascript.

After looking at your code and running the two pages through a SE spider simulator my guess is that its because they are fairly similiar in content. There are many things you could do SEO (search engine optimization) wise that would help boost your rankings like heading tags ex. <h1>, <h2>, etc. and use alt tags on your images.

It is my belief that most of the time you will see the index page rank higher in most cases.
