Toolbar PR was shifting, now seems stable

Long Term Phenomenon - resolving with PR update?

I had posted a while back about a phenomenon that had been persistent for a long time (months).

That Toolbar PR was different and in patterns;
When my "main" site was a 6 another section was a 2, and when my main site was a 5 the other section was a three.

Well on Thursday, it stabilized with the 5/3 PR and didn't shift any more at all. This also coincided with a 20% drop in google traffic referral.

Suddenly today around 3 hours ago, it has changed to the "other", 6/2 PR scenario, and traffic picked up again.

I sure hope this is the "final" PR update that everyone has been waiting for!

Mine's up again as well. This has happened on and off thought so it will have to stay a while before I'll believe it.

Hmm, newish pages that did have rank have lost it. Is this just a throwback?

I dont believe it could be a roll back, as I have had PR4 for two years and every now and then it bumps up to 5 today (it did this a couple of weeks ago but never stuck..)

i think something special is brewing in googles oven.. ;-)

I don't think it's an update. Right now these datacenters are showing a PR roll-back:
216.239.53.104
216.239.57.99
216.239.57.98
216.239.57.104
216.239.57.105

Also noticed some new tbpr lastnight... not rollback figures. Perhaps the new tbpr is in contstant movement now (changes between old, current, new) - would'nt surprise me.

still shifting - rollback 3 months+

I would simply see the PR for Matt's blog. If the DCs that show different PR for your sites show a PR0 for Matts's blog, then it is a rollback.

I see a rollback on 216.239.53.99 and 216.239.53.104

With it being 110 days since the last PR update, with 111 days being the record, shouldn't we see a PR update, not a rollback?

Many threads on WebmasterWorld from November and December last year now show TBR. As these pages are new, we are now facing a toolbar PR update, not a rollback.

Would you mind giving an example? I checked quite a few pages and found all of them showing no PR.

I am expecting my site to go from PR 0 to 3 and 4 for many internal pages, and they are still at 0. So unless the PR update takes several days, I see nothing, even with future pagerank tools on the web.

In between the last week of November and first week of December, one of my sites had pr on different pages increase. There was a lot of switching back and forth. Now seems stable. New pr from pre December. As of now, no changes since then. Site I put up in October should have gotten some kind of pr but nothing so far.

I have for example Toolbar PR3 on this thread:
[webmasterworld.com...]

My current data center is 66.249.93.104

How very strange. The thread you mention is from Dec 15 2005 and indeed has a PR3, as well as every thread before that date, but then the "GMail on your mobile" thread, which is from Dec 16 2005, (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum100/269.htm) does not. I checked the Yahoo Directory "New Additions" pages and none of them dated before November 7th show any PR.

So we have the most recent PR on Yahoo dating November 7 2005, and on WebmasterWorld it's December 15 2005. Wasn't this the period when Brett allowed Google to index WebmasterWorld again? Just speculation, of course.

Not true, there is no toolbar PR update going on.

I've seen roll-backs off and on for a few weeks now. Latest being a couple days ago.

IMOHOO, these are not rollbacks. I too am seeing several changes in my serps, except that I am experiencing important new highs that our domain has never achieved before. I think it more likely that an internal update is taking place.

I think you are close. In that case it is not an update, but a sort of PR Christmas present from Google to Brett. But then still remains the questions why there is PR on the posts in the Gmail forum, but for example not in Foo or other forums on this board?

It's about time for a PR update but I wonder if we can really look to the past in this case. I may be nothing will happen until after the Big Daddy changes are complete.

Also it seems that people have been glimpsing PR changes on and off since December. I know I have, I'm going to quit getting my hopes up that they are really about to update PR.

I have no answer for that one :-)

With a new datacenter being swithed to Big Daddy every 10 days, it will be another 4 months before a PR update, if we had to wait for Big Daddy to be fully implemented.

I sure hope this is not the case.

I hope it's not the case too. But the way things have been dragging on and on I wonder.

Backlinks have changed on some of the data centers I watch. A combination of shifting PR and a backlink update have the makings for something?
