Buying Pagerank text links on Ebay

Hi Guys,

I am a web designer and SEO guy, quite successful in my own way. My question is quite straight forward; why when you search on ebay for 'pagerank' are there only about half a dozen results?

The results are auctions from various sellers offering a 30 day text link on a certain page with a certain pagerank. So you can be sure of the content relevance and you can hope the actual PR is the same or higher than the visual PR. But it certainly seems an option anyone should consider. I have bought a PR7 text link where I define the anchor text, its on a content related page and it costs $25/month. Isnt this potentially quite worthwhile?

Why are there hardly any ads on ebay for pagerank related links? Any comments on the practice appreciated.

At a guess -- because Google is opposed to the sale of links based on PageRank, and they have penalized sites involved in publicly "selling PageRank".
