Looks like there's a PR update going on...

Not sure if its a rollback or update. The Dcs 216.239.53.X and 216.239.57.X show different PRs. For my site looks as if it has rolled back, but might as well be a update. For Matt's blog however those DCs show PR7, which was zero before last PR update. Must be an update in that case.

No pagerank update, its just a rollback which has been happening for quite a while,

I have seen real pr updates serveral times over the last few months.
Can google roll back to prehistoric times? I doubt it.

I now see PageRanks on my pages with variables in the url, such as page.php?id=3, it never used to display them in the google bar. Maybe it is only for those with one variable?

1) How do you check the PR on a specific DC?

2) Also, is there a way to check a more detailed PR than on toolbar PR? Like, for example, if you PR is 5, it would be interesting otsee if you are closer to 5 or to 6.

:Sigh:

Looks like a rollback - this has been happening for ages - nothing new to see.

How is it possible to see different pr's on different datacentres?

I don't understand since once you click on a site - your on the site... so why would the pagerank change because you entered from another source?

There are a number of test data centres runing right now, and probably for the next month or two, which may show different PR.
Also, it appears that some DC's have been rolled back to pre Jagger, which will mean they are showing old PR.
The standard DC's are showing correct PR for the present moment in time, if they are showing post Jagger update search results.

MMMMzzz - not sure about that Eazygoin

The old PR shown on some DCs is not showing different/old serps and the new test dc are not showing new PR.

financialhost

There are a couple of tools out there on the web that check datacenters for PR...

Try a search on "Future Page Rank Tool" in Google for a popular one.

Just edit your hosts file and add a line like the following:-

66.102.11.99 toolbarqueries.google.com

Possible if you are listed in dmoz. If you are, then you will be listed on Google directory too, which lists sites according to PR, which is not necessarily the same as you see on toolbar. Say, your PR is 4 and there are 5 other sites with PR4. If you are listed above other PR4 sites, then you may be closer to PR5 and if you are listed below others, you may be closer to PR3.

Then how do you explain Matt's blog at PR7 on those DCs? It was zero before last update, and if it is a rollback, it should have been a zero.

I am seeing MC blog as PR0 on these DCs:-

216.239.53.99
216.239.53.104

Although it is in and out on these and a few others - these are the same DC with the others showing a roll back.

McMohan:

We are listed in Google Directory, however, it produces weird results.

For example, there is a website in our category listed 35 positions higher than us. Their GogoleDir PR is 5, ours is 3. From ToolBar PR -- theirs is 3, ours is 4.

Doesn't make sense to me, unless they update directory PR once a year or so. Any thoughts?

Point taken ;-)

I was in rather a hurry when I posted, but in a nutshell, my point was that sometimes if one sees results from different DC's, then the PR can differ, depending on the DC IP address that one is looking at.

Perhaps I explained it a bit clumsily!

Google has become extremely unpredictable these days both of my site has PR 2 and now its showing zero and my site age is around 6 to 8 months still both of them are not completely crawled.

Can anybody help me in knowing the reason? At the same time PR has completely reduced

I have another problem in which it says File Format: Unrecognized - View as HTML CAN ANYBODY TELL ME THE REASON BEHIND THIS.

I expect the reason for both of my quires and solutions if any

Thanks in advance

Cheers

I checked my URL on the future page rank tool.

Shows PR5 on 16 of 18 servers

Shows PR3 on 2 of 18 servers

Does that mean in general my PR is 5? and does my site come up further down the list on those servers?

This doesn't look like any new pages are getting PageRank to me. Probably some rollback on a few dc's.

TheSlyRussian, If you had a PR 3 before the last PR update, you are probably seeing a temporary rollback on those 2 DCs.

How many of these threads are there going to be? Some DCs sometimes show old pagerank. This has been mentioned at least in twenty threads in the past two months.

those 2 dc's are definitely showing old PR - no question about it. That said, we should be due a TBPR update in the next fortnight no?
