Hi folks

I understand that writing and distributing articles & press releases using article banks and online press release distribution sites can be a very effective way of increasing your one way link popularity. I uNderstand that this method alone can significantly help you increase your google rankings as it increases your so called 'trust rank'

My first question is - is that the case is it a method worth sepnding time and money on?

Secondly if you produce an article or press release and use a distribution service to send it out on to other sites would you lower the value of that article and link if you also had the article on your own site? Would there be any duplication penalties?

Thirdly because you are sending out one artilce that is being re-published on many sites does Google count each link as a positive one way link or will it just count the one because the links are from the same article that has just been duplicated & copied onto other sites?

Thanks

I wish I could give you a definitive answer on this. I can only tell you my experience. All the articles I distributed have given me many one way links. However, the pages they are on usually go supplemental quickly and have no pr on them as they migrate across the web.
The ones I have on my site have all gone supplemental on BigDaddy but are part of the regular index on google.com.

As for further efforts- I am waiting till some of the dust settles and see the results before I expend that much time and energy again.

Article submission and distribution is worth it for the steady increase in traffic alone. Most often you will get links, and usually (imho) about 60 of them are pr0 eventually up to about pr2.

However, there are also some legit sites that really love the content (if you articles provide useful unique content) that will naturall link to you and this is the power of the articles.

I have writen couple of articles and distributed and really now sometime my site is ranking with the article pages published on the other sites. So i think this is a good point to distribute article. As far as the duplicacy is concern google might check the author name and links in resources box if they varies there might be a little penalty.

Can anybody please refer to the duplication issue? If you just make an article by copy-n-past'ing your web content it could be considered as duplication, right?
