Are links in headings spammy?

What's the verdict?

I've been wondering for a while about having headings (i.e.
etc.) as links (e.g.
Some heading
) or even parts of the headings. Is this considered spammy practice? I've used it on a few pages on one site with no obvious detriment to those pages, but I'm curious to know what others think/do about this.

No, it's not spammy if it makes sense to the user and you. I've used that kind of thing for years, never saw much problem with it, don't do it as much anymore, but more for reasons of style than seo. Well, maybe a bit of seo, since I like to keep my hx stuff clear, and use link text to communicate the point further. Plus users tend to get confused with hx links, especially when the whole hx text is already underlined for example.
