Is the search below a good way to check for 302 hijacking? If not, what does this search tell you?

allinurl:mysite.foo -site:mysite.foo

I used to do the allinurl seach alone, but now that google is attempting to stop bots with that virus activity error message, I have to find another way.

There are countelss threads/pages in this forum on this topic. I will see if I can dig up a few for you, but if you look around in this forum, you will find many many threads on this subject..

If not, what does this search tell you?
allinurl:mysite.foo -site:mysite.foo

The above search would list URL links pointing to your site -from domains other than your "mysite.foo" domain.

When you find these sites that have your domain in their URL and report them to Google, has Google been good about removing them? I mean, is it worth the time to search for them and root them out?

I recently reported 3 hijacking sites and so far Google has not removed them. But here's the kicker, a couple of them have something like 24,000 pages almost all of which were hijacking pages for dozens of other sites besides my own. One had 302,000 results, again mostly hijacked pages from many other sites. Why would Google allow these to stay in the index?

Why would Google allow these to stay in the index?

Because they prefer to find a programmatic way to uncover many sites that use the same technique, rather than doing a hand edit. But clearly, scraping is a challenge for an algorithmic approach.

.. and they try and try again, forever, until, someday it works.
