Yep you are right. Got one new link displayed. lol. However my pr is still displaying prejagger. It keeps jumping back and forth. Directory shows the latest pr which still hasn't been displayed even once. weird googling.

I've got some movement on some small sites that I monitor, but nothing for the larger more established ones. I'm not really surprised as Googlebot hasn't visited for weeks.

However, my largest site that has actually been banned by Google has got webrank of 5 with Yahoo .... :-o - The only form of SEO on this site is meta details on each page, no cheats, boosts or link exchange schemes. I crave the love of a good search engine ;-))

Best of luck as the dust settles

Some datacenters have old PR. Nothing interesting there.

Yeah.. Just got a google alert as well. Doesn't seem to be anything major (at least for my sites).

I can see as well PR update for some sites.
Interesting one of my site went PR0 the last 3 months Got it's PR back.

Dayo_UK

10:13 am on Dec 20, 2005 (gmt 0)

It has been explained above.

This is a temp rollback of PR - It has been happening on and off for the last month or so.

Personally I would not expect a PR update until "Big Daddy" changes have been implemented.

the backlinks I see on google.com are no roll back, those are new counted links, one thing I also notice is that there are not that many scrapers in the link count so thats good, thats also the reason why some go back in this link update.

PR Update? No, just moving back to old PR. Expect it some time mid-January.

If you check at MD several sites not only yours you will see obvious PR update.

Dayo_UK

1:27 pm on Dec 20, 2005 (gmt 0)

No - it is a rollback.

Jean - you said yourself you have reverted back to old PR - other sites have done this also - eg Matts blog has reverted back to PR0 on the DCs showing the old PR!

Dayo_UK
"No - it is a rollback. "
Is not because there are 3 sets of back links
1 the pre October ones
2 the October ones
3 the new ones
how do you explain that?

Sorry,

Have to disagree.

There may be a PR rollback which I might agree with, but the BL updade is happening. I'm seeing new links acquired within the last month that were not showing before. In fact, my link count went to a number I've never had before.

I'd call that a back link update.

But, I am also seeing old PR values on some pages so, what does this mean.

Nothing!

I stopped following backlink updates and PR updates back when they stopped counting for anything other than an ego boost.

Sorry changed my post a bit - you might be right - G is a mess - I dont really concentrate on PR either unless I am a PR0 :(.

There is definetly old PR being displayed on some DCs though - that is without doubt IMO.

I know Jean - that confuses me a bit :( - I think a lot of number crunching is going on at Google at the moment - dont know what to make of it all.

Yes, there are 3 sets of backlinks.

Eg. (at the moment I checked):

pre-jagger: 216.239.37.104 64.233.171.104 64.233.179.104 etc. (5 bls)

Jagger: 216.239.39.104 64.233.161.104 etc. (19 bls)

Post-Jagger: 64.233.183.104 64.233.187.104 etc. (28bls)

"I stopped following backlink updates and PR updates "
Don't forget that after a PR BL update comes usually an index update or not?

Dayo_UK

1:53 pm on Dec 20, 2005 (gmt 0)

Jean

The serp update is often before the PR change is visible.

But anyway - we know that an update is coming soon as MC has said.

Google directory seems to be updated also (at least for my category).
My site was #2 when viewed in PR order. Now it is #1. And the previous site that occupied #1 position seems lost 1 point (previously PR5 now PR4)

I can see now we are back to the old back links for a few weeks ago on google.com - yes there where new back links

Dayo_UK

2:25 pm on Dec 20, 2005 (gmt 0)

Yes I see.

Hmmmz - Now are we actually seeing new PR anywhere - or just old?

BL and PR updates are not always at the same time.

It makes me wonder if Mr MC knew about some problems with canonical issues so he put at his index page of www.mattcutts.com that message:
Some fun stuff is here [mattcutts.com]
You probably want this [mattcutts.com]Because, um, there's nothing else here right now......

Does not make mysterious why Mr GG haven't post at this forum for Ages now(since Jagger started).Instead he post and answer postings at his blog.

OK here is we have a back link update that 100%, but now we sometimes go back a week.

About PR thats not updated yet

Dayo_UK

2:35 pm on Dec 20, 2005 (gmt 0)

This BL update/change also shows they have got canonical urls wrong for even more sites.

However, hopefully when "Big Daddy" test DC comes back thing will improve.

IMHO Google directory PR has definitely been updated and it is definitely not a roll-back.

The new directory PR is showing post Jagger PR 0's.

In the UK I don't see any movement at all.

No change in PR
No change in backlinks
Nothin!
