Should I be carefull with what links I place pointing to other places in my site? Eg every page points to my homepage. But I think most sites do this. Another thing is I have pages where some subpages are linked twice (for easy navigation on top and bottom). Any experiences, something that might be avoided?

I usually have two links back to my homepage from all other pages. The icon at the top links back and there is also a link back at the bottom. It's been this way for years and my pages do well in the serps. My guess is that the second link is ignored.

No problem, koen. If you have more than one link on one of your pages to another, it will just be seen as one link.

Yeah, man, standard procedure.

Does this actually count for every link in there, also for 2 identical links on the same page to an external resource?

Just look at the source code for WebmasterWorld...look at the logo and the menu.
