I know it is important to have unique content to climb on google but my question is. Would it be a good strategy to make your product pages unique in the way they are worded. Every competitor has the same product page, would making it unique enhance the chances of it ranking higher? Or should the main focus be kept on building unique content on the site overall?

Thanks

If you want product pages to rank at all they have to be different than your competiters. Mainly because they will get filtered out and not because it will rank better. Also the more words you get on a page the better chance you have of ranking for more terms. Remember there are more obscure terms typed in than short 2 or 3 word phrases. People do type in product names and model numbers but they often type other words with them.

And if your products are similar eg: green widgets, red widgets..it would be best to make each page as different as possible-including format, metas, etc.
