Google Image Search updates

I saw late yesterday some changes, but not for the better, I liked the results before this update much better.

Was just checking a couple of things today and i noticed a few changes for search queries i do well with in the image results. (they bring around 1000 unique a day)

Has any one else noticed a change?

I've noticed that I am getting a lot more google image hits in my logs lately.

just checked my logs this morning and one particular site dropped 500 referrals yesterday from image search. Went from positions #1 & 2 down to 12.

I see it is still shuffling around too.

Ive nevr particularly followed what goes on in image search, always just thought of it as a bonus.

you follow image search if you get 20.000 unique a day from there, but I have never realy found out how they rank the images

Does anyone have some tips to maximize earnings from image searches?
I notice some sites will redirect if you click on the serps.

zeus, do you get that many a day from image search?

If so is that to 1 site or a few?

thats on site, but you can see this change now reduces this to 7000

I don't understand the benefit of getting hits on image searches. Aren't people just looking for an image to swipe for their own web site? These certainly are not targeted hits.

Also, I've noticed Google has changed the way they display the images lately. It used to be that if someone clicked on an image in the SERPs it would open a new window with the image at the top and the hosting web page at the bottom. Now clicking the SERP images just opens the image and the web pages is not displayed.

So again, please explain what kind of benefit you think you are getting? I personally have my images folder banned by robots.txt but might consider changing that if I could see a benefit.

Easycall - its not the best hits you get, but if get a lot of it, its worth it trust me, but you need more then 5000
