I have a site that's been ranking well on both Google and Yahoo for a while now. At first although Google was sending me a bit more traffic, levels were not too different. Now though Google is sending me about 20 times as many people as Yahoo and MSN combined.. is this due to the number of people using Google increasing or perhaps due to Google picking up a much wider range of my keywords?
Anyway, initial question - does anybody know where I can find some stats on internet users behaviour, what percentage use Google for example?
Thanks!
By the way, if I have posted this in totally the wrong place (very likely!) then sorry to the moderators!

Sorry if this not allowed (TOS?)...

[searchenginewatch.com...]

Most recent I could find...

Funny though... my logs are putting MSN infront this month. The stuff is a little outdated - August 23rd.

Thanks webdude - this really surprises me. Especially in the UK (where I am based) I had expected Google dominance to be much more in the 50% + range.
Is your site optimised more for MSN and Yahoo rather than Google?

The way it has been lately, I have been trying to optimize for G, but it seems to be a moving target right now. Some of my sites do quite well in G, others seem to have disappeared. Still trying to get a handle on it. As for MSN, all my sites rank quite well there. In fact, some of the sites I have that rank #2 or #3 in G are ranking #1 in MSN. So I am not sure if I actually try to target a specific SE when putting up a site. I really try to do the best for any SE. Seems to work in most cases for me.

When the AOL and MSN thing starts up, we may be seeing a whole new ballgame when it comes to optimization. Just think folks, Brett will have to start an MSN World and the MSN Search forum will become as busy as Google Search News!
