Site Removed Question

I recently found out that my web site was completely dropped from the google search all together. A search on the domain name within google simply pulls up "No information is available for the URL".

I am curious if their are any actions one can take to discover why the site was completely dropped? No changes were made to the site and it has been running safe and steady for quite some time (over a 1 1/2 years), maybe this is why it was removed.....

Prior to this the site received great exposure in google and some top placements for its keywords. Page rank was also level 5, now all pages, including home page are 0.

Am I dead in the hole or is their something I can do to discover the issue? Thanks All!

Sounds like you may have been banned from Google for something.

Suddenly dropped may mean just that the Google bot at last found the time to analyze your site in more details and did not like the result.

The best way is to read the Google guidelines to webmasters. It sounds trivial but I did it myself when had the problem with my site a year ago. I discovered that I had many things to improve. They mean every word in their guidelines.

Maybe, and maybe. You could dig through the Update Jagger threads for clues - many sites went missing then, and yours sounds like another casuality. "Dead in the hole" depends on what the new algo doesn't like about your site.

Not likely. You might drift down in the serps by never changing things, but you shouldn't disappear because of it.
