Site can be listed in several ways in Google Listings.

Who can tell us the differences between the listings?

I've noticed that there are several ways a website can be listed. Can anyone here tell us the differences and what they mean?

Thanks,

When you see contain this term all it does is take the term www.mysite.com and adds quotes to it. This gives you a list of all sites that contain the term www.mysite.com. This is a good way to find backlinks because many people link to your site with with your url instead of a keyword. They don't want to show other listing by deafulat because they are pretty sure that is what you are looking for. Now on AOL it is differnt they treat it like it is a keyword.

There are more types than that, and it can depend on the search query as to what you see...

For site:domain.com searches, I find you can get to see changes simply between toggling &filter=1 on and off and/or changing to &num=100 format too.

Yes, I originally said ban and then changed it to or removal when I noticed WebmasterWorld listing.

Reasons for url on the homepage:-

Canonical Problems?
Hijack?
Google cant determine root?

Yes, there are. But I limited it to the URL search only without quotes, site.

Canonical Problems?
Hijack?
Google cant determine root?

I launched a new site with about 100 pages three weeks ago. Google picked it up and indexed the home page the next day. After three weeks, the only indexed page is the home page although Googgle has crawled the site every day.

The home page is listed under the type 5 and 7 depending when and where I searched. The cache of the home page is also changed from available to none, back and forth.

Does anyone know the reasons or have the same experience?
