More pages than really available (revisited)...

The issue has been mentioned before, but today I had my personal record for a few seconds (dont know which datacenter, it was gone again before I was able to look):

i looked for "mysitename" (fantasy brand name), which brings up over 700k results.

then i look for "site:mysitename.com" and get around 400k pages (which is roughly the amount - fine!)

then i look for "mysitename -site:mysitename.com" and get 35k results... well 400 + 35 was NOT 700 the last time I went to school...

Nothing new, I know, just the amounts amaze me and the way to look seems to be clear for me now...
