Hi,

Hoping someone will be able to clear this up for me..

If I name a folder on my site with a relevant keyword, then place web pages named with the same relevant keyword, will i get penalized for using these relevant keywords repetatively?

An example may make it clearer:

widgetsite.com/widget/widget-info.htm

..with widget-info.htm having lots of content about widgets along with 'widget' in its Title Tag.

Would this course of action be deemed as ok as long as the page has relevant information on widgets?

Thanks for your time

I don't think you'll be penalised, but IMHO you're not going to get much, if any, benefit from keywords in the URL. It's just too easy to stuff keywords in, so the search engines aren't going to take any notice.

How about structuring your site so it's easy for visitors?

and so on, rather than

IMHO keywords in the URL will help a lot, but I think once is all you need. More than that and I don't think it helps.

A way to check this is to do a search on any keyword. You will see lots of top results in the SERPs with that keyword as part of the URL.

I think it helps.
