If you do a search for a particular business - say MicroSoft or Apple - on Google, the first entry now contains up to four extra links to that website.
So, along with the usual "cached", "similar pages" and "more results" there are now links direct to "major" pages on that site.
Does anyone have any ideas on how Google decides what links to use?

This seems not only to be for searches on company names, but I've seen that too on (pretty competitive) KW searches. Might this have something to do with the Sitemap? there is a paramenter in the redirect. smap=...?

This has been around here and there for a few months. Matt Cutts gave his take on the better snippets [mattcutts.com] back in August.
