Hi

I find that the homepage or the index page of some sites have a lower google page rank compared to its sub category pages. I dont find any problem with the title, description or the keywords of the page, but then also it is lacking behind in terms of page rank.

Can anyone suggest me the reasons behind this type of problems. Is it related to any page search stategies of Google?

PageRank is precisely that - PAGE Rank. The likely cause of an internal page having a higher PR than the homepage is that there are better links to that page, maybe someone found the internal page interesting and linked to it rather than your homepage.

This can easily happen with new sites that pick up natural links, people will link directly to the content rather than the homepage.

Don't worry about it, it's a good thing.
