I'm building a site just now targetting specific keywords (not particularily very popular keywords but very likely to produce at least one in a year decent result which would pay handsomely - I hope). However, although not very competitive there are plenty of advertiser paying $.50 a click for top placing in Yahoo.
Anyway, this site will be the top of my pyramid site. Below it in subfolders I intend to create minisites targeting, similarily, good keywords.
I'm thinking of about 100 pages per site (at least) all HTML + CSS (no server side stuff, really).
The code is all valid and compliant to AAA. Proper markup is used and I've took a bit of time over a nice (removeable) CSS design. It's about 40k-80k per page in site.
Ive plugged in some minimal keywords and description, and of course, titled each page.
I linked to the sites from 3 page rank 5/6 sites I run (with a reasonable level of relevence - the anchor text is dual or triple keyword loaded. I'd say about 25 links in total (if that).
At the moment most of these are hidden links via css style. I've made sure that these hidden links perform as a navigational aid for disabled users, so they are not just there for the search engines. Anyhow, I'm not spamming the search engines because the content is origional and genuine to the anchor link text - right?
I'll replace these links with visible links shortly. I have not promoted the sites by any other means. I've not got any bad words on the site like directory or links.
Joined Adsense before site promotion, was accepted in 1 hour and used the adsense advertisements generated to confirm the keyword targetting optimisation effectiveness.
Here's the results....
Uploaded the site 3 weeks ago. Somehow, even though I'm careful, I'm in Google. How'd that happen? Are they scanning new domains registered now?
Launched 1 week ago with 50 pages so far: Linked to my site via my 3 others.
This week I am in MSN and ranking 1 out of 1,000,000,000.
Within a week I'm in Google and ranking for certain keyword phrases but nowhere for main keywords. I'm going to time how long it takes to rank and get page ranked.
Within two weeks I'm in Yahoo and ranking no1 and no2 out of 2 million for main keywords (although I'm in one minute and out the next).
I'll update the forum with updates as I get it.
Any advice on creating this type of site? I'm not looking to spam the engines and I'm attempting to create quality content - I hope. Of course I'm aiming to make a residual income from all my pages, but each minisite will have a killer buisness aim too, just like the top of my pyramid.
