My homepage has PR6 and each time I add an internal link to a new page at my site, that page shows for that keyword in the firt places of Google within one or two days.
So I decided to test the same for the external links I have at my homepage.
Using the link:site command in Google, my site didn't show as a referrer in any of the 20 or so sites I link to.
Tried the same at Yahoo, and my site showed as linking to all those 20 sites.
So Google for some reason is not counting my homepage external links.
I don't use the nofollow tag. Perhaps is the result of linking to many sites I own. But penalizing my external links is something weird...
My site ranks well and my internal linking works great, but this is the first time I check this so I don't know since when this is happening.
Half of the sites I link to are mine and all of them have only three or four inbound links.
And my site doesn't show in those three or four links. Google shows only a subset of links when there are more than a thousand links. If not, they show all links. Also, links with high page rank are always shown (My homepage has PR6)
Regarding the Adsense bot, I'm pretty sure that they are not involved in idexing and, also, the googlebot has no relationship with adsense.
But these tags are quite new and perhaps we are dealing with a bug in one of the bots. Who knows...
I removed the tags. Let's see what happens.
