Google has strongly denied speculation that it is testing an online classifieds service by the name of Google Base.

The service is described as a "database in which you can add all types of content. We'll host your content and make it searchable online for free.

I find this the most interesting bit.

Online auctions are now past their best, in terms of seller viability and buyer interest.

Ebay understand the importance of fixed price instant sales, which is where Google are heading

The real thing, of course, is G's ability to give these things preferential positioning and treatment in serps. They could wipe the floor with many sales sites, once established

I can already see the amount of scraped sites hosted there using adwords ...it will most definitly be interesting to see the terms for inclusion.
