I had a crappy site with broken links that I forgot about , and let sit for 4 months. The links were put as placeholders to see how the layout would look from day 1. It was one page of links, 1/3 of them broken.
When I checked on this forgotten site months later, it was a PR5. The same as my current site that has 300 pages of content, downloads, you name it.
I really think this PR is a load of you know what. It maybe is good for some sites, but measures nothing for others.

I guess I don't understand what PR is good for now. It's been mentioned here that it helps in getting spidered more frequently. I also thought it helped give more value to deep pages linked from the page with good PR.
Does this seem to still be true?
