While WW was down, I posted this on SearchEngineWorld. I'd like to hear people's opinions.

Google looks to be trying to increase the use of their Autolink "feature" on the toolbar.
On Google's main page they have an image of the toolbar, with a big line around the autolink feature.

I'm going to take it easy here considering the last SERP shuffle left me feeling warm and fuzzy - but this autolink crap is just that... crap.

I really wish G would stop trying to encourage people to "alter" the content of my website for Google's profit, and my loss.

Am I being petty?

Maybe they should start making Mac software! They tend to leave us in the dark, I couldn't help or design any site or even see that feature.

Wow... this was a hot topic a month ago.

Now Google is actively promoting it an nobody cares? Maybe you're right - since we're all pushovers, perhaps Google should just roll this out full scale.

Then Microsoft, and Yahoo, and everyone else can follow - slowly stripping you of the revenue your site provides... with it all ending up in someone elses pocket.

I wish I could profit from the copywritten works of others without refute. I'd be rich too.
