Now I've moved to WordPress & Google Images is making a mess of everything related to my images. I know that GI is crawling the images because I'm getting hits fr. folks who find my images there. But when I check out the GI URLs for my images (which the visitors used) I see that:
a) GI doesn't display a thumb or the lower-screen preview of the pg. where the photo is located
b) GI displays a truncated URL link for the pg. at my site where the image is located (like this "www.ri")
c) If I click the 'See Image Alone' link, I'm usually taken to my site main pg. rather than the image file
A few notes about my site:
I've activated Hot Links Mgr. through cPanelx (too many people direct-linking to my images & music files). But I DO have the GI domain listed as an allowed site. Is there a possibility that my server is denying Google Images access to my site even though their domain is listed as allowed? If so, is there a way to correct this? Also, I've noticed that many of my images do NOT have underscores in their file names (i.e. "http://www.myname.com/blogname/images/this is a file.jpg"). Could this be part of my problem?
If so, I had no idea that this could screw up Google Images. Do I have to go through all my images & add underscores to get GI working properly? Or does this not have any bearing on my problem?
