PageRank is a number that Google assigns to each page in their index.. It's calculated by a formula using the number of inbound links to the page, the PR of each linking page, and the number of links on each linking page. Keywords and content do not enter into the computation of PR, so the PR value is just one factor in determining a page's position on any specific search result.
