Changing server but keeping the same domain name.

I am looking to change servers - but keep my domain name. Will this affect my positioning in the SERPS? What can I do to prevent any loss of visibility as a result of this switch?

If the domain name stays the same, there should be no effect whatsoever from changing servers or ip addresses.

I did this last year and saw no change in the SERPs.

If you are happy with your regional coverage, I would suggest that you swap to a server in the same region.

e.g. if your old server has a US IP address, then only swap to another US provider.

Obviously ensure that there is no downtime during the switch over. Test the site on your new server before changing the DNS
